Trophic level:
The gray wolf's trophic level is consumer. The are towards the top of the food chain because they are a larger predatory organism. They help restore balance to the ecosystem through many ways.
Biomass:
Their biomass would be grass, though they do not directly eat the biomass. They prey on the organisms that eat the biomass, then the wolves feed on that organism therefore getting the biomass energy indirectly through another organism.
Food Chain:
The gray wolf does not have it's own food chain but it belongs to a large one. The wolf is the secondary consumer with producers at the bottom, then herbivores above them, then the small consumers. the wolves feast on the small consumers such as rodents and deer-like organisms. The top predator would be an organism such as bears which feed on all other living organisms just about along with plants such as berries.
